Nollywood actress Stephanie Linus Okereke is currently in Italy on a mission to end woman trafficking for prostitutions.

According to her update on IG she walked through a street in Italy, the street that hold a lengthy history of countless of African women lured to Italy by sea for prostition.

"If these streets could talk, they will tell a lot of stories. On this very sidewalk, the dreams of countless girls and women have been snatched from them as they were forced, oppressed and sold as commercial sex workers.

According to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), there has been an almost 600% increase in the number of potential sex trafficking victims arriving in Italy by Sea since 2014. Many of these women were kidnapped against their will or lured with the promise of greener pastures. 
Their stories brought me here, and the hope of a better future encourages me to keep walking. It's time to do something about it. It's time to raise our voices for these vulnerable ones. Join me on this walk. #MSF #msf_sea" she posted.

According to The guardian.com publication of 2016, over 5,633 women were transported by sea to Italy in 2015, seeking greener pastures of which 80% of them were believed to be a victim of women trafficking. It was also stated that this women are from different states in Nigeria but most especially from Edo state.

The award winning actress journey to end women trafficking for prostitutions in Italy cities like Asti and Turin to mention few is a work in progress that requires support from us and who ever wishes to.
