Nigerian artists Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu aka Burna Boy and Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid made Nigerians proud as they win a Gramophone each at the just concluded 63rd Grammy Academy Awards.

Burna Boy wins the 63rd Grammy Awards Gramophone for his 2020 album TWICE AS TALL in the BEST GLOBAL MUSIC category. The nomination got Nigerians glued to the Grammys in anticipation to celebrate the first-ever major Grammy Awards winning in Nigeria by a Nigerian mainstream artist.

TWICE AS TALL is the 'Odogwu' crooner's fifth studio album released on 12 of August 2020.

Did I mention that the AFRICAN GIANT album artist was also the first Nigerian main the stream artist to perform at the Grammy's premiere?

Burna Boy winning at 63rd Grammys is well deserved as he lost his first nomination for AFRICAN GIANT in the BEST GLOBAL MUSIC category at the 62nd Grammys to Angelique Kidjo in 2020.

Wizkid also added to Nigerians pride as he wins the Grammy Awards Gramophone as a featured artist in Beyonce's BROWN SKIN GIRL in the BEST MUSIC VIDEO category.

Waiting and hoping Tiwa Savage, Made Kuti and Femi Kuti get to win the Grammy for their contributions in Coldplay 2019 album EVERYDAY LIFE nominated for BEST RECORD PACKING AND ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

Tiwa Savage, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti all featured on the album. The Kutis featured on the amazing record, 'ARABESQUE' where Femi Kuti had an amazing Trumpet solo while Tiwa Savage worked on 'EKO.'

Well if the album wins they get to the Grammy partially which means they get the Grammy Certificate instead of Gramophone.

According to Grammy's, the rule for that category states that "For albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental recordings. Award to Artist(s) and to Featured Artist(s), Songwriter(s) of new material, Producer(s), Recording Engineer(s), Mixer(s) and Mastering Engineer(s) credited with at least 33% playing time of the album, if other than Artist."

Vox clarifies that "Generally if you participated in creating a significant portion of the album (defined as at least 33 percent of its playing time), you get a golden gramophone."

Since their participation is not up to 33% of the body of work then Tiwa Savage, Made Kuti and Femi Kuti gets Grammy certificate if Coldplay wins the Grammy's ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

What a night for Nigerians. Naija to the world!!!
