The Nigeria Correctional Services have recaptured one hundred and fourteen out of two hundred and forty inmates escapees of Kabba Jailbreak in Kogi State.
Speaking on Channels Tv, on Tuesday, the Correctional Service spokesman, Francis Enobore said “following the attack on the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kabba in Kogi State on 12th September 2021 and the swift intervention of the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa mni, a total of 114 escapees have been recaptured, ”
“The CG who personally led a team to the Custodial Centre for an on-the-spot assessment, directed an immediate Search Party Response Team to go after the escapees even as Security has been beefed up through the deployment of additional Armed Squad personnel to fortify the facility,” he added.
According to reports, heavily armed gunmen attacked the facility late night Sunday, releasing scores of inmates. it was gathered that the gunmen are unidentified.
Two security operatives were reportedly killed when the unknown gunmen invaded the Kabba Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kogi State.
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Interior spokesperson disclosed that two officers of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), have not been accounted for.
