Nigeria's national airline, Air Nigeria has been announced ready by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika to commence operation by April 2022.

Sirika disclosed to the newsmen on Wednesday after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Sirika, Air Nigeria will be run by a company in which the Nigerian government holds a five per cent stake, Nigerian entrepreneurs holding 46 per cent, and 49 per cent will be reserved for yet-to-assigned strategic equity partners, including foreign investors.

He further noted that the national carrier, when operational, will create about 70,000 jobs for Nigerians.
