After suffering a second-round defeat to Nassourdine Imavov in Saudi Arabia, Israel Adesanya is set to reflect on his future in mixed martial arts.
The Nigerian UFC star has now lost four of his last five fights, with his latest setback coming in Riyadh on February 1st.
During the bout, Imavov capitalized on a vulnerable moment, bringing Adesanya to the canvas and unleashing a barrage of strikes that forced the referee to step in.
Although Adesanya appeared frustrated with the stoppage, officials had little choice, as allowing the fight to continue could have resulted in a knockout.
With his professional record now standing at 24 wins (16 KOs) and five losses, Adesanya spoke to the UFC post-fight show, stating that he will take time to assess his future.
The former middleweight champion is expected to make a decision regarding his career and possible retirement in the coming months.
