A new report from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has revealed that over 8,000 telecom subscribers switched networks in January 2025, taking advantage of mobile number portability (MNP) services.

The report indicates that a significant percentage of users migrated from underperforming service providers to networks offering better coverage and data services.

Industry experts believe that the increasing number of porting activities reflects consumer demand for improved network quality, urging telecom operators to enhance service delivery to retain customers.
