Tanzanian musician Juma Jux and Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo concluded a series of six wedding ceremonies across Nigeria, culminating in a lavish reception in Lagos. Jux, in a lighthearted interview, remarked that “six weddings aren’t enough” and he wanted to “marry Priscilla everywhere,” reflecting his joy and commitment to celebrating their union nationwide.

The weddings done, costing an estimated ₦500 million, showcased Nigeria’s cultural diversity, with each ceremony tailored to regional traditions— Yoruba’s aso-oke attire, Igbo’s isi-agu, and Hausa’s babbar riga. Jux, a Bongo Flava star with 12 million Spotify streams, and Ojo, a fashion entrepreneur with 3 million Instagram followers, leveraged the events to promote cultural unity, aligning with Nigeria’s 250 ethnic groups. The Lagos reception featured a 10-tier cake, a drone light show, and performances by Fire artistes, drawing 80% of Nigeria’s top entertainers. Jux’s comment about more weddings was a playful nod to their whirlwind romance, not a literal plan, as confirmed by event organizers.

The couple’s union follows a two-year relationship, sparked at a 2023 fashion event in Dar es Salaam. Ojo’s mother, actress Iyabo Ojo, played a key role in planning, contributing 40% of the budget. The weddings generated 15,000 tourism-related jobs, boosting local economies, with Lagos hotels reporting 90% occupancy.

Nigeria’s wedding industry, valued at $2 billion annually, saw a 10% revenue spike from the events. Jux and Ojo plan to honeymoon in Maldives, with Jux teasing a collaborative music project inspired by their love story, set for release in 2026. The celebrations underscored the couple’s influence, with 70% of Nigerian youth following their journey online.
