A Nigerian woman whose name is Joy Maduabuchi Iheanacho has called on Nigerians to help her as Lagos State Police Command in Mushin allegedly gave her child to a stranger but demanded N200,000 from her to get her son back.

In a video posted on Twitter by Nigerian Human Right Activist Segun Awosanya aka Segalink, Iheanacho said her child has been missing for 4 years.

According to her, the child went missing on his way back from school then she saw a poster on Facebook with the picture of her child captioned

"Found child by name Chibuike Ogbonna 9yrs old, fair in complexion, speaks English and Igbo lang, hails from Agba in Oboama, Ohaji LGA of Imo State, he is presently in Ojo Division, Lagos Police Command, grateful assist and reposts so that if any of his family members can be trace they can call this number 08031939075 thank you."

Afterwards, she went to the station which is the Juvenile Welfare Centre, Alakara, Idi Oro Police Station. She said the police asked her to bring the child's birth certificate, immunization and antenatal card which she presented only to be told the child has been given to another woman who has taken him to Imo State.

After insisting they should provide her child, the police demanded she pays 200,000 Naira to get him back.

In the Twitter thread posted by Segalink, he said the names of the police officers involved have been obtained and will do the needful to ensure the safe return of the child back to Iheanacho.

"We’ve obtained the names of the officers involved in this atrocity and will do the needful within the next 72hrs to ensure the child is found and returned to the rightful parents without inflicting further pains on them emotionally and financially. This is pathetic. #EndImpunity" he wrote.
