In preparation for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has mandated that all intending pilgrims receive vaccinations against preventable diseases, including polio, diphtheria, and measles. This initiative aims to ensure the health and safety of pilgrims during their spiritual journey.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Imam Abdurrahman, expressed satisfaction with the readiness of the State's Primary Health Care Development Agency to conduct the vaccination exercise. During a visit to the state Medical Store at the Bauchi Specialist Hospital, Abdurrahman observed the preparedness for the vaccination campaign and rescheduled the exercise to commence on Saturday, May 11, 2025, due to logistical considerations.

The vaccination schedule is as follows:

  • Bauchi Local Government Prospective Pilgrims, Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) Participants, Board, and Government-Sponsored Pilgrims: Vaccinations will take place from Saturday, May 11, to Monday, May 13, 2025, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm at the Bauchi Specialist Hospital and BACAS.

  • Pilgrims from Other Local Governments: Vaccines will be distributed to all general hospitals across the state, allowing intending pilgrims to receive vaccinations at their respective local government areas as scheduled, starting Sunday, May 12, 2025.

This proactive measure underscores the board's commitment to safeguarding the health of Bauchi State pilgrims, ensuring they are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases during the Hajj pilgrimage.
