A dispute has arisen between former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries, concerning the demolition of a cement plant in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area.

During a recent visit to the nearly completed cement factory in Itori, Dangote alleged that the Amosun administration demolished the plant twice, including its fencing during the second incident, leading to the project's abandonment. He credited the current governor, Dapo Abiodun, for encouraging the revival of the project, stating, "It is good we have it on record that the factory we are visiting now in Itori... was demolished twice. We started, and Governor Amosun demolished it. The second time, we started again; he demolished not only the factory, including the fencing, so we left."

In response, Senator Amosun challenged Dangote to produce the necessary approvals for the construction of the structures that were demolished. He emphasized that during his administration, no individual or organization was above the law, and all developments were required to adhere to established regulations. Amosun's media office stated, "There are laid down rules and guidelines for the approval of physical development. If Dangote feels otherwise, he should produce the requisite approvals for the construction of the structures he alleged were demolished."

The cement factory in Itori is now nearing completion and is expected to commence operations next year, following the intervention and support of Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration.
