Nigeria’s new Accountant-General, Olufemi Adekunle, has officially assumed office, calling for unity and collaboration among financial stakeholders to ensure effective management of public funds.


Adekunle, who was recently appointed by President Tinubu, took over the office during a formal handover ceremony in Abuja. In his inaugural speech, he stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and teamwork in driving the nation’s financial policies.

“My administration will prioritize efficiency, accountability, and collaboration in managing Nigeria’s finances. We must all work together to ensure that public funds are utilized effectively for national development,” he said.

Adekunle also assured Nigerians that his office would implement reforms to enhance financial management, curb corruption, and improve public sector financial reporting.
