President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound shock and condemnation over the recent brutal killing of travelers in the Uromi community of Esan North-East Local Government Area, Edo State. The victims, reportedly traveling from Port Harcourt to northern Nigeria, were allegedly intercepted and lynched by a local vigilante group on Thursday.
In response to this tragic incident, President Tinubu has mandated the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible. He emphasized that such acts of violence and jungle justice are unacceptable and have no place in Nigerian society.
The President extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, assuring them that his administration is committed to ensuring that justice is served. He also commended Senator Monday Okpebholo and community leaders in Uromi for their prompt intervention in preventing further escalation of tensions.
