The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of 12 new members to the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), an important body responsible for overseeing the administrative and personnel affairs of the National Assembly.

The confirmation was made after the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service conducted a thorough screening of the nominees, who were drawn from different geopolitical zones across the country.

During the plenary session where the confirmations took place, Senate President Godswill Akpabio emphasized the significance of the NASC in ensuring the smooth operation of the legislature. He highlighted the need for experienced and competent individuals to manage the affairs of the National Assembly’s bureaucracy, including staff appointments, promotions, and general administrative policies.

Several senators commended the selection process, stating that the appointees were well-qualified and capable of strengthening the commission’s efficiency. They also urged the newly confirmed members to discharge their duties with integrity and professionalism. With this confirmation, the appointees are expected to resume their responsibilities immediately, playing a crucial role in supporting the work of lawmakers and enhancing legislative processes.
