Abdul-Azeez Adediran, alias Jandor, the PDP’s 2023 Lagos governorship candidate, has warned that PDP aspirants for the 2027 elections are “sitting on a keg of gunpowder” due to internal crises and public distrust.

Jandor highlighted the PDP’s failure to capitalize on APC’s economic challenges, citing 33% unemployment and 30% food inflation, per NBS data. He criticized the party’s National Executive Committee for delaying zoning decisions, with northern and southern factions clashing over the presidential ticket. “Our candidates face an uphill battle unless we rebuild trust,” Jandor said, referencing the PDP’s loss of Lagos since 1999.

The warning follows Atiku’s disavowal of the All Democratic Alliance, signaling coalition uncertainties. Jandor, who polled 8% in Lagos in 2023, urged grassroots mobilization and youth inclusion, noting 60% of voters are under 35. PDP chair Umar Damagum acknowledged the concerns, pledging reforms by Q3 2025. Analysts warn that without unity, PDP risks losing key states like Rivers and Oyo.
