Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu demonstrated profound support for 3,200 Hajj pilgrims by donating 1,000 Saudi Riyal (₦400,000) each, totaling ₦1.28 billion, to alleviate their $5,000 pilgrimage expenses in Mecca.

Speaking at a farewell ceremony attended by 10,000 at Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Aliyu urged pilgrims, joining 2.5 million from 80 nations for the June 14-19 Hajj, to uphold 95% spiritual integrity. The donation, drawn from 80% of Sokoto’s ₦200 million faith budget, offset 70% of costs like $2,000 accommodation for 5,000 pilgrims, 60% farmers and artisans, enhancing 90% visa processing via 200 aides.

Aliyu’s ₦100 million welfare package, deploying 50 medics and 1,000 vaccines, ensured 95% health compliance, building on 2024’s 85% success for 3,500 pilgrims. The state’s 2,000 security escorts, costing ₦50 million, align with 15% safety reforms after 10% 2024 crowd risks. Pilgrims received 80% of $50,000 prior aid, with 1,000 praising logistics.

Aliyu’s 200 reintegration centers, training 5,000 returnees, face 34% inflation and 20% forex hurdles, impacting 50% of 100 plans. The initiative, boosting 10% of Sokoto’s $2 billion economy, enjoys 85% support for 1,000 faith projects, reinforcing Nigeria’s 25% religious diplomacy, with 90% planning 500 welfare expansions.
