Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi, known as Spyro, called on politicians to “do better” in serving Nigerians in response to an All Progressives Congress (APC) reception rally for Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno in Uyo on Friday, June 20.
The event, marking Eno’s Supreme Court victory affirming his 2023 election, drew APC leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Spyro, performing his hit “Who Is Your Guy,” paused to address the crowd, urging leaders to prioritize citizens’ welfare amid 33% unemployment and 30% food inflation. “You have the power to change lives; do better for the people,” he said, earning applause. The singer, known for his socially conscious lyrics, later clarified via Instagram that his message was non-partisan, aimed at all leaders.
Eno, who defected from PDP to APC in April 2025 pledged to deliver on infrastructure, with 50 rural roads planned by 2026
