Several actors from the iconic Harry Potter film series have been banned from driving following a series of legal infractions, with the latest cases reported on July 16, 2025.

Among them, Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed Harry Potter, received a six-month suspension after accumulating 12 points for speeding offenses across London, while Emma Watson, known as Hermione Granger, faces a three-month ban for using a mobile phone while driving, caught on camera in Oxfordshire. Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley, was also penalized with a four-month ban after a drink-driving incident in 2024, marking a troubling trend among the trio once celebrated as child stars.

The bans, imposed by UK courts, reflect stricter enforcement of road safety laws, with fines totaling £15,000 across the cases. Legal experts suggest the actors’ high profiles may have drawn additional scrutiny, though their representatives have declined to comment, citing privacy.

The incidents coincide with renewed attention on the franchise due to the upcoming 2027 TV reboot, raising questions about their public image. Fans have expressed disappointment online, with some linking the bans to the pressures of fame, while others note the actors’ efforts in philanthropy as a counterbalance. No immediate appeal plans have been announced, leaving their driving status uncertain for the near future.
