FCT Minister Nyesom Wike told former Minister Rotimi Amaechi that the National Coalition of Political Opposition Movement, under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), would fail to return the opposition to power.

Wike, a key Tinubu ally, mocked Amaechi’s defection from the APC, saying, “Your coalition of expired politicians won’t unseat us; Nigerians see through it.” He cited the APC’s 20 state governorships and 60% budget allocation to infrastructure, creating 5,000 jobs, against the coalition’s 15 million-vote target.

The remark follows Amaechi’s June 2025 coalition entry with Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, aiming to challenge Tinubu in 2027. Wike, reconciled with Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara, allocated N200 million for post-crisis projects, boosting Rivers’ $10 billion economy by 10%.
